How do I enrol my dog at Paddock Park?
We will organise a meet & greet and show you around our kennels and paddocks. Following the visit, we require booking a daycare or an overnight trial before we can consider boarding. This allows us to observe your dog's behaviour without their humans around, and ensure they'll be comfortable during their stays with us!
Do you have a minimum age requirement for attending?
We accept puppies as soon as they've had all their core vaccinations and we will take intact puppies up until puberty starts to dictate their behaviour (anything between 6 - 18 months old). When your puppy enters puberty, there will be a stand-down period until they have been neutered.
Do dogs need to be temperament checked before being accepted?
Yes, dogs' temperament is continually checked, not just when or before they arrive. A dog may be dealing with hidden pain - teeth, grass seed, ear infection and they can be very reactive as a result. A dog may become overwhelmed with the noise, smell, closeness of others and become reactive. That doesn’t mean they’re like that all the time and we have to work through that on a daily basis. However, a dog that snarls, bites and attacks will not be welcome at Paddock Park.
Do you take entire dogs?
We will accept entire puppies up until puberty starts to dictate their behaviour (approximately 6 - 18 months old). This policy is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care.
Intact males and females can cause increased tension and undesirable behaviour among the dogs, including humping, marking, and even aggression. These reactions can be stressful and unsafe in a group environment.
